The best model of the HD4850, its cooling system is the best, or talk about their performance.
This card runs cool. I got a card with a faulty fan and Amazon did an advance replacement, no questions asked. The second card works great. The fan is definitely audible when it spins up but not too bad.
This card is quieter than I feared it might be and, as several other reviewers have noted, can be made quieter by manually controlling the fan speed. When on auto, the fan doesn't seem to drop below 60%, even though the card is easily cool enough (
This particular card fortunately does not have such issues thanks to a superior cooling. At this price point (~$200) Radeon HD 4850 is a winner. There are a lot of reviews out there, so just google it if you are interested. The general problem with these cards is that they are noisy and get very hot. It wasn't too loud to begin with and after I adjusted fans to run at 30% it became very quiet. It gets 40°C at idle and ~55°C under load.
